Medicare Savings Programs

How to Apply for the Medicare Savings Programs

You have a few options to see if you qualify for a Medicare Savings Program in your state:

  1. Do you have, or are you eligible for, Part A?

  2. Is your income for 2025 at, or below, the income limits listed for any of the programs above?

  3. Do you have limited resources below the limits above?

Even if your income or resources are higher than the amounts listed here, you must call or fill out an application if you think you could qualify for savings.

With both plans, you may use either to supplement the other if something is not covered. The perks of combining these plans include:

  • Free or low-cost healthcare

  • Prescription drug coverage

  • Low out-of-pocket costs

  • A large selection of doctors and hospitals

  • Extra benefits and services such as vision and dental

  • Free doctor’s visits, exams, etc.

Adding Advantage for Veterans to your current insurance may save you from future coverage gaps and penalties. Because VA health coverage isn’t guaranteed to last forever, you may find yourself without coverage, and without a Medicare plan to fulfill that need, you may be temporarily without coverage.

Veterans

Veterans have a great opportunity to receive complete coverage with Medicare Advantage and VA benefits combined.

Advantage for Veterans

Medicare Advantage can be combined with VA benefits to provide complete medical coverage to veterans. It is an excellent option for those who need a lot of healthcare at a low cost

What Does Medicare Advantage Cover for Veterans?

VA benefits cover specified hospitals, physical exams, prescriptions, etc. Veterans often find, however, that these benefits do not cover all of their needs. In that case, a Medicare Advantage plan is a better coverage method.
